Default Rake/Staked

My two friends are trying to drag me up to the casino for some poker, but I told them I don't have the money to play. So they offered to Stake me, but we have no idea how that works. The one friend suggested that we each contribute $50 for me to play with. If I lost, the 1st $50 would come from me and after that they would split the lost. If I won, the each would get 25% of my winnings.

I would be playing 3/6 and we think that the rake is $.50 for every $5 in the pot, capped at $5. We are going to Soaring Eagle in Mt. Pleasant, MI, so if anyone knows this to be incorrect, please correct me.

First of all, I'm not sure that the rake is beatable, and I'm really not sure that it is if I only get half my winnings.

The trip is just for fun, but I don't want to put my self in a losing situation.

Any suggestions/advice would be great.

Thanks.

The standard stake arrangement is if the player loses, he plays nothing, if the player wins, he keeps half the winnings (After paying back the buy in.)

If they can't drag you tell'em they can drag me, and even stake me if they want. I'm always lookin for free rides to the eagle. And your right about the rake being 10% up to 5$.

Is the rake the same at 6/12? It seems, if it is, that one should play in that game instead. I've never sat in it though, so I don't know how tough it is.

It works in whatever way is acceptable to the three of you. It's impossible to get this wrong.
