Producers tampered with Sanjaya phone line?

I can't vote for obvious residency reasons, but I read on Sucks that those who tried to vote for Sanjaya would often get a "your call did not go though" message.

This is not the same thing as a busy signal, nor an actual vote message. And, it became apparent that no other contestants got this "your call did not go though" message.

When it comes down to the auditing and counting of actual votes (possibly by a third party firm), the AI producers can factually show that Sanjaya indeed had the lowest number of votes.

Again, to me it seems like the AI producers are doing what they can to save themselves from losing face. I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happened to Antonella.

Read that thread again. There is only like one person that says they had a hard time voting for Sanjaya. Stop making a big deal out of something that isn't there.

hmmmm... quite a few people in the thread had that problem, and i only saw one instance (1 person times once happned) of "your call can not be completed" for anyone else (lakisha) in the first few pages...

of course, when asked about it, the AI producers will get all pissy

I got it several times and I wasn't voting for Sanjaya. But maybe AI hates Jordin too [img]/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img].

Some telephone switch between the caller and AI had a problem completing the call. It's probably a symptom of the increased load as the vote totals increase. It can also be a very local thing that depends on where you live and what type of phone service you have.

I got the same message a couple of times when voting for Chris R. There's no way the producers tampered with the lines. They were talking about it on Stern as well. They didn't actually think he had a shot at winning, did they?

I guess this might make sense as it got closer to the winner (not really though)... but with 6 to go I think the producers are just as upset as we are that Sanjaya is gonzo.
