Default With Sligh gone...

...who picks up his votes? I'm not sure if this deserves its own thread, but it's worth discussing because we know Sligh had somewhat of a fan base (obviously not large enough).

My guess? Sanjaya. VFTW was big on Sligh after they gave him a shout out, and according to the comments on Sligh's blog, Sligh's fans picked up this. With Sligh gone, I can see them wanting to support the VFTW pick (almost out of bitterness for their beloved Fro-Patro leader's departure).

Actually, to quote Sligh's from his blog:

[ QUOTE ]
It's over fans. Whether this week or next, I will go and Sanjaya will stay. So I've asked David at www.votefortheworst to give away the votes I earned last week to Sanjaya. And when I get cast off American Idol, whether this week or next, I ask you to support Sanjaya to the end. That is the only way to make American Idol IRRELEVANT--and that will help me feel better.

[/ QUOTE ]

Take this FWIW.

IMO, he's bitter that AI didn't go the way he planned. In the first couple of weeks, he was touted as a favorite (among a few people) and then hit a seemingly fast downward slope. I think he was in it to win it, and when he saw that he was really not capable of winning, he gave up.

I don't really think that's him in the blog. Go to his blog now, it turned into a Sanjaya blog.

That's kind of odd. I suppose it could've been faked. Reading through the old posts that date back to early in the competition though, it seems like it'd have to be him and many of his posts were consistent with what would happen during the shows that follow.

But of course, this whole Sanjaya blog thing now makes me think it was all made up - unless Sligh is really bored and is now blogging for/with Sanjaya.

The blog has never been Sligh. I thought it was pretty obvious that it was friends of his/fans/Idol-heads that were doing it the whole time.

Just to confirm that that blog wasn't actually his, here's the URL to his real blog (which gives no indication that it wouldn't be real):

Here is a good interview with Chris discussing his thoughts on show. Says he almost dropped out two weeks ago.
