Default $1-$2 live 300bb deep

Live game at the casino, villian is on a pretty good rush, hes a smart thinking lag. Who usually plays much higher but its gambling with friends at the table.

My imagine is is tagish, he has seen me show down a couple solid hands.

I have $600 behind
Villian has $1100

Pre- 3 players limp, i raise to $15 in the cutoff with q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], vilian raises to $50 on the button. Folded around and I call, putting him on ak,aa,kk, and jj.

Flop is 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img],8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img],8 i check he leads 65,i raise to 130 to see where im at. He grumbles for a while about my minraise, i think he must have jj or maybe 10-10. He then hastely pushes me all-in for another $400 or so . Hero...?

Hows my line here? whats your flop decision here?

I like to c/c flop and lead any turn. I don't want to get in a raisewar with him because I'm oop and he's a LAG. (trips anyone?)

I'd hate to go broke w/ QQ in a deepstacked pot. Maybe if he was a station maybe, though.

Given description of villain and position, I'd reccomend 4betting this preflop.

I don't like your "informatioN" line on the flop. It's tough, but IMO c/c is better. Usually checK/evaluate the turn.

If he puts him on JJ+/AK I doubt thats a good line.

OP is in the CO. Villain is on the button.

Putting villain on JJ+, AK is an extremely tight range IMO. A good LAG is gonna have a pretty wide range here, especially in position and this deep.

First my descripion maybe a little off, he likes to see flops, but is good post-flop, and I hadnt seen him make any large raises with < 10-10.

Whats wrong with going to 130? with the intention of it probably being the last penny in the pot,I figure a whiffed ak, aqs, and 10-10,are folding.
If I simply call Im nearly 100% hes going 200 on turn, and Ihave to fold (maybe thats better) but theres the possibilty he does this with ak,jj. and Im not calling him down in the hopes of seeing this.

I feel like im rambling. However, I wasnt calling off my stack with qq, and felt calling flop, and c/f turn was too weak.

If you raise to 130 to see where youre at then he obv told you where youre at and you can fold

if not your logic is flawed

some9 nailed it, if you really want to make thie "raise to see where you're at play" (which I think is pretty bad) then you should know what you're planning to do if he shoves or calls.

This is why I like c/c flop and re-evaluate on the turn, if he fires big you have a lot more info and you have kept the pot smaller. Personally I think his range is a lot larger than you think it is, but if it really is that tight then I'd either c/c the turn and c/f river or c/f turn (this is after c/c'ing the flop that is)
