[ QUOTE ]
Pros prefer to play live because you can actually see your opponent and make reads based on their tells.

[/ QUOTE ]

That and because Hold'em rewards bold, aggressive moves. When you are playing online against a 4-tabler, it's only possible to put them for a decision for 1/4th their chips. Live, you can put them at a decision for all their chips.

When you consistenly put your opponent to a decision for his entire big blind you will know to turn pro.

You have to have a large enough bankroll, a large enough sample size that demonstrates you are a winning player at a specific limit, and you'd have to know what your hourly win rate is, compared to any other "normal" job. You then take the plunge. I would reccomend a back up plan, just in case.

Brad Booth made his living online, then he bought into the High Stakes Poker TV Show and Sat down with a Cool Million.

We can't run from who we are. Our destiny chooses us.
