Can you tell why you would raise certain amounts in certain situations? People have different strategy for that 25/50 level.

There is no magic formula that says you should raise to 100 as a default play in the 25/50 levels . You should only vary your raises if you notice your opponent making a strategy adjustment . If he's calling liberally with atc's , then it's a big mistake to raise only to $100 .

There is nothing wrong with raising to 150 if your opponent hasn't made any significant strategy adjustments . Only if he's playing tighter will I raise twice the big blind as a default play .

I think I explained it in my 25-50 pooh bah thread, but I want to keep pots small to maximize my edge postflop.

20bbs deep I'd love for somebody to call my minraise with ATC.

Yeah, I read that. It seems like you raise that amount almost against anyone, right? I thought it was more opponent dependent.

I'll make a more specific poll for this one.

I used to raise to 125 until like 15-20bb, but it's definitely standard for me to be minraising at 30bb these days. I feel like the right decisions come a lot easier and I'm not forced into making marginal calls in bigger pots. And people are stacking off the same in a minraised pot or a 3x raised pot anyways, so it's not like I'm losing value when I want to get it in.

The more I consider a minraise to 100 here, the more I like it.

Edit: my previous standard was 125.
