Default $5.50 in the money. calling ranges.

Working with a buddy on his stt game- bubble and in the money play mostly. At times his fold button just disappears. Further- he is of the school that when he guesses he is ahead of the actual hand- not the range- and is correct it can't possibly be an incorrect play. Thus a need for an outside answer I can point him to.

Situation $5.50 speed stt at Tribeca- 3 minute levels.

Villain is button three handed in the money and short stack with 3550 chips.
Big stack SB- 9500
Would Be Hero- BB 4950
Blinds are 300-600 leaving WBH 4350 behind.
Villain moves in for 3500.

What is the calling range for would be hero- under two different circumstances.

1) Villian is random player who pushes tighter.
2) Villain is more creative/aware.

Part two- what if WBH has 3K behind making the two shorties basically equal? What if he instead is the big stack?

This seemed like too good of a spot to learn from based on how the situation could vary here.

If it matters- the blinds go up the next hand to 400-800.

Thanks in advance for any and all responses- I couldn't give him "precise" ranges to call with not owning all the neat tools and gizmos and widgets and thingamadoodles.
