I hit 120 mph while racing my friend on South I-77 in Cleveland in my '97 Honda del Sol VTEC.

EDIT: It felt fine. I could have easily gone another 20-30 mph faster if my car would max out that high. Being low to the ground significantly helps at those speeds.

Back when I had more testosterone than good sense, I new the topend speed of nearly every vehicle anyone in my family owned.

I had my grandfather's Buick Lesabre in excess of 120 a couple of times and it was still accelerating. Maybe that's why old people drove them.

Another time, I owned an 85 Toyota Supra and had it close to 130. I realized that if I blew a tire that I would end up being ground burger to the vultures. I was on a slight decline and this certainly helped me.

I am 33 and probably haven't been over 95 in a decade.

Back in '87 I had just bought a brand new Corvette and wanted to see what it could do going from Philly to Atlantic city. On the AC Expressway I manage to hit 147mph then pooped my pants and backed off. Still don't think my balls have dropped back down.

115mph in a 1994 Ford Crown Vic with police pkg. Speedo went to 140 but the car was starting to shake quite badly. I was 16, and it was on I280 in Iowa.

I've been waiting like a month for an excuse to link this: "How to Drive Fast on Drugs While Getting Your Wing-Wang Squeezed and Not Spill Your Drink."

My sister and I were driving up to Portland from L.A. for Thanksgiving a few years back, it was 2am on some remote stretch of the 5 about 30 miles south of the CA/OR border, not another car in sight.

It was a stretch of road that was downhill slightly, so I floored my 2001 Nissan Sentra and got it to 110. Didn't want to push it faster than that, but I might have been able to squeeze 115 out of it before wheels started flying off.

Oh and also in a separate, unrelated incident, I was pulled over doing 90+ and got out of it without a ticket. GG!
