Default 100 NL: calling down p3\'s?

hero was playing 25/20/3 for the session, villain is an unknown who had just sat down short stacked, dunno with how much due to multi tabling, since villain had sat down I had succesfully been a little more active than usual bc I got dealt good hands

Party Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 4 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)

SB: $190.99
BB: $59.37
Hero (UTG): $130.93
BTN: $173.67

Preflop: Hero is dealt 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 Players)
Hero raises to $4.00, 2 folds, BB raises to $7.00, Hero calls $3.00

Flop: ($14.50) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
BB bets $7.00, Hero calls $7.00

Turn: ($28.50) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)
BB bets $9.00, Hero calls $9.00

River: ($46.50) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)

...folds and curses himself for not raising the flop or turn.

Even if you call and are correct, this line will bite you in the arse in the long run.

I float quite a bit so I don't really like raising the flop, for balancing purposes

if we raise the turn we'll be committed to call an all in bc of our straight draw, which would suck bc we'll basically always be behind

an ace would give us the straight, so we shouldn't be too scared of overcards

I mean, if we raise turn, don't we allow our opponent to play perfectly? he will muck overcards and goes all in with an overpair and bc of our 10 outs we're committed

villain should be checking river more often than not with overcards, which is also why I think a fold is in order to villain's all in

I thought his line screamed weakness though and made the call, basically bc I didn't believe he'd bet an overpair so weak

I don't think results matter here, so I won't post, but I'm curious if my thought process makes sense to you guys or if I'm missing something obvious
