You were correct in pointing out the dealer error (of course). However, I have learned to just keep quiet when the pot doesn't concern me. If you say nothing, no one will think anything of it...there is a 0% chance that player 2 will start berating you (or the whole table, for that matter) for NOT correcting his own brain-dead mistake.

I don't consider this to be a matter of ethics. I, for one, don't really want to take the role of a self-appointed table policeman.

(BTW, I think it's "heads-up with an anonymous player"...not "unanimous")

Players generally avoid pointing out winning hands. I've heard reasonable arguments for both policies.

Wrong. In a cardroom, cards speak. If the cards are tabled it's every player's right -- no, every player's responsibility -- to point out if the pot is being awarded to a losing hand.

I would love to hear the "reasonable argument" to the contrary.

Granted, this is unlikely...but, IMO, it is a "reasonable argument" to the contrary.

A hand that has been turned face up and is clearly the winning hand cannot be killed on a technicality or dealer error. Anyone may point out the fact that cards speak and are not violating any rules by doing so.

When this POS speaks out during my hand I stop the game RIGHT THERE and insist on the floor IMMEDIATELY. This schmuck has never seen wrath like the public nut-kicking he's about to get if he pulls this bullpucky on me.

You can insist on the floor as much as you like, but this will do nothing in terms of the result of the actual hand. The damage is done, what was said can't be taken back, and the floor can't take any action towards the guy considering a call.

I will always point out a dealer error when they start to award the pot to the wrong player. Nobody has ever complained. Pro was a jerk to think he should have won the pot once his opponent turned over his cards, and he should have said something himself IMO. He is anything but a Pro.

Pro was also totally out of line to say anything during hand. But as was noted before, your recourse is nil during the hand. You get satisfaction only after the hand when Pro gets warned by the Floor. Whatever the outcome, I hope you did call the Floor over.

I liked that you called him Pro after he called the rest of the table a bunch of amateurs. Anything to tilt an a**hole. And I think he would have acted the same regardless of whether you called him Pro or not. You cost him a pot in his mind and now he wants to get even.
