Default $20 - flopping trips with weak kicker

Am I beat here?
At the flop I didn't worry about UTG ... I thought I would get HU with UTG+1 and get all the money in on the turn. Instead I'm facing a river bet by UTG and have no idea where I'm at. What T can villain here possibly have? AT UTG??

Yeah I could see villian with a wider range of hands other than Axs although that is pretty likley. I could also see him with either an over pair or an underpair. I would probably call too, you are ahead of more hands than you are behind.

If this game is about information, then your call pre-flop and post-flop represent mistakes. What about a 5bb raise pre-flop? I'm not sure in this situation that would have chased anybody, but it's likely a few fold there, including UTG. Your choice here, is between raising and folding. Calling should not be an option.

After the flop, you need to re-raise and see if UTG+1 is for real or not. Calling gives you no further information.

Basically, this hand represents all the problems that happen when you limp. You've hit a hand. You have no information. Very tough. You've hit trips though, so I don't see how you can't see it through.

The reason we are calling is mostly for pot control, we don't want to inflate the pot with a hand that may be second best. We are slowly building it by having our opponent bet into us, therefore we are controlling how big the pot gets. If we raise we are not pushing of Axs, and probably not a smaller pp either. So if they are going to call a raise, then there are very few hands that we are pushing off, and there are not too many plays that villian can make that will make us fold our hand. That is why calling is the best option here.

I call. If he has case 10 then whatever. I am 70-80% sure I have the best hand when I flop a set. The other 20-30% of the time I am wrong,LOL. No flush, No straights, I flat call the 900 and if I lose, great, I paid for info on UTG style of play.

If UTG+1 had a deeper stack, I would raise for sure. The thing is that he only had $500 left and I wanted him to push the turn
