It is because if you don't,can't,or won't enforce existing laws there is no need to reform or create new laws.

By that principle, we should enforce every part of the UIGEA or the Patriot Act before we can seriously consider reform.

Yes we should. Why make laws if were not going to enforce them?

Why enforce bad laws rather than repeal them?

This argument doesn't make any sense.

You are saying we shouldn't reform an existing law because that existing law is too difficult to enforce?

In other words, we should keep bad laws because they are bad.

I used to be oppposed to illegal immigration, but than I realized that our country prospers when we have slaves, or near slaves, be it black, irish/italian, or mexicans, so I have changed my tune. If mexicans want to come across the boarder, since Im in a perfect position to get rich off them and take advatage of them, I have no problem with it anymore. We should have some kind of check-in system though as, there are actual terrorists trying to cross (Im pretty sure last week we got 2 iraqi terrorists trying to cross)

The reason you enforce bad laws is because its the law. If they are bad you change them in the proper manner. But whether they are bad or not you still enforce them. But if you won't enforce the law why reform them at all? Just to have new laws to ignore.

Do you have a source for this? All I could find is this worldnetdaily piece, which, typically for them, is nothing more than uncritical regurgitation of unconfirmed statements from administration officials. And it doesn't seem to have anything specific about captures last week.

(I also noted that the two specific cases mentioned involve individuals who were ultimately convicted of trying to raise money for Hezbollah. Frankly, these are not the kind of terrorists that keep me up at night.)

I also found this interview transcript, on which the other story is based. It is also lacking in any specifics.
