Fruit Baskets
This might seem like a trivial question to some of you but I have no experience in giving fruit baskets or know anyone that does.
My mother was recently diagnosed with anemia and this one doctor did a great job of treating her. I want to show him my thanks but do not know the "correct" way of doing so. Do I just buy a fruit basket and say "thanks, I really appreciate it?" Also, the companies I found that look decent are the fruit company and FTD Fruit Basket. 1800FLOWERS has some nice selection but doesn't deliver to hospitals. Any other recommendations? Thanks. |

Re: Fruit Baskets
The thing about those fruit baskets is 99% of the time they go to waste or the recipient will put them in the break room at work for everyone to pick at for a week. Many doctors are involved with charitable foundations, perhaps a better way to go is to make a donation in the Dr's name to his favorite charity?

Re: Fruit Baskets
www.gevalia.com does gift baskets based on coffee and coffee stuff which are very nice, assuming someone in the docs office drinks coffee.

Re: Fruit Baskets
Zingerman's Deli has some fantastic gift baskets, but they are mostly breads and cheeses.

Re: Fruit Baskets
A gift is nice, but a sincere card thanking him I am sure would be very appreciated also. I gave one to my attorney who helped me greatly along with a gift basket. He asked me if he could put the card up in his office on the wall. I stopped in to say hi to him and ask him a question and the card was there 2 years later.
