next sunday. The game will be on ABC. A NE/Houston final would be quite good.

Holy [censored], I hadn't kept up and didn't realize that Nate Jaqua was in the MLS much less scoring in the MLS Cup semifinal.

I remember watching that guy play for South Eugene High School.

what's the rule on high/dangerous kick applied to a bicycle? (he could have taken off either of those guy's head with that kick...) doesn't apply for a shot with possession?

I think its only an indirect kick if he shows his cleats to the defender.

This is the first year that I've followed the MLS. I've really enjoyed the season, but I think that the playoff system sucks. Why have the conference finals be one game, but the semifinals are a two legs? Having a one game playoff works for the NFL, but upsets are less likely in football than they are in soccer. Too many teams make the playoffs, which only exacerbates the problem of having a crapshoot playoff system. Plus the final is on a Sunday during the NFL season. wtf don't they realize that there are people who like both soccer and football? Why not at least put it on a Saturday and hope that it's a weak college football weekend, or have it on a weeknight (like the college football national championship, which realizes that it can't compete with the NFL).

Just under one hour til the start of MLS Cup.

NE and Houston are probably the best 2 teams in the league (although DCU could make a claim on that too) so the playoffs worked surprisingly well. However, I agree that the format is pretty bush-league. Americans love the playoff atmosphere though, so what are you gonna do?

Should be an interesting contrast in styles. NE is a very defensive team who scores on the counter and on set pieces, while Houston is a much more flowing offensive team with players who have skill over the ball.

Also, unrelated, but US won 1-0 in South Africa yesterday morning to win some kinda cup involving Nelson Mandela. Jozy got his first senior cap and got to play with Adu and Edu in an offensive grouping I think will be around for a while.
