Things that annoy you about live poker.

I figured this might be theraputic so here goes. In no particular order:

1. Extreme rakes at low limits, plus tips, plus a jackpot drop I'll never see.

2. People who educate bad players at the table. I don't care if she played 63o for three bets and cracked my AA. Shut the hell up and let her call off her money and bitch to her husband that she never wins, because she never does.

3. Anyone who uses the following:
- "You play that junk?"
- Any Antonio Enfandiari saying, especially "Weeeee!"

4. People who say "Who raised?" when it's three of us in the pot, I'm on the button and there's four chips in front of me. No, it wasn't me Ma'am. It was someone else who raised then folded their cards.

5. Slowrollers. If you bet on the river HU and I call you, you roll first. Easy. Simple. Learn it. Live it. Love it.

6. As for 5. - If it's multi-way, it's the original bettor and then clockwise around.

7. People who comment on the board, possible hands, what they think I have and so on. Shut the hell up. Especially when I've asked you nicely twice.

8. Dealers who won't enforce number 7 because they're scared of someone stiffing them on their tips.

9. "Where are you from?". It's pretty easy to figure it out by the way I talk. When I answer, don't say "Oh, I thought you were Australian". Moron.

10. I'm going to throttle the next person who berrates a bad loose passive calling station who calls me down to the end with no pair no draw to hit their set on the river. I really don't care - in fact, give me a table full of these idiots. Stop being the "table parent" and coaching the people we depend on to make mistakes!. I know I already said this one - it's my biggest pet peeve.

11. Any kid (read: "Under 25") who says "ell oh ell", "ell oh ell donkaments" or any variation there of.

12. People who agonize for 5 minutes over a $4 call on the river.

13. Dealers who don't know the rules of the game. There's far too many incompetent dealers in LV card rooms, and yet it's almost impossible for a competent dealer to get a job here. I'm glad I don't deal anymore.

14. People who wear sunglasses/hoodies and iPods at 2/4 limit. Are you kidding me? I honestly think sunglasses should be banned from card rooms. You wanna pretend your're Phil Laak? Great - go get a fleshlight and pretend it's Jennifer Tilly while saying "I looove you guys! I love my life!".

There's more, but I'm getting a headache.

people who are actually bothered by this need to reconsider if playing poker is in their best interest. The only thing that bugs me about slowrolling is the extra 30 seconds it take away from the game. I go out of my way to figure out who the slowrollers are because they are exposing huge weaknesses that you can exploit at the table, rather than be bothered by them you should learn to love the idiots who slowroll because thats where your profit is going to be coming from.

That's not truly annoying to me. It's only annoying in the sense that I enjoy talking about the humorous annoyance of it. Kind of like saying it's annoying when they're so stupid at the McDonald's drive-thru that they give me 2 burgers instead of the 1 I paid for.

Here's one of my pet peeves. When a really bad player beats you and makes some comment that is completely clueless. Example, 1/3 game, limper limps because his cards look mildly attractive, I raise KK to $15, donator cold calls because he was dealt both his cards, limper calls because his cards look mildly attractive. Flop is 8 4 2 with 2 spades. Limper bets because he paired one of those cards, I raise big, donator goes all-in, limper folds his probable 98 or A4. I go in to the tank. The problem is donator might make this play with a flush draw, or 99, or A8, or AA, or 42.

I finally call. He looks disappointed and says "I guess you probably have me beat" as he slowly turns over 42. I feel like beating my head into a wall, and manage to calmly say "How could I possibly have you beat?" I mean WTF? You think I'd go in the tank with a set of 8s? He says "Yeah, but the board might pair." Jesus.

Players and dealers that do not attempt to keep the pot countable in PLO8. I have spent a decent amount of my life watching the dealer split a pot that could have been kept separate from the start. Pretty much all dealers learn this fairly quickly, or after a brief conversation, but the morons who have been playing for 30 years always [censored] it up.

I sat accross from a guy with the dirtiest hands I have ever seen in my life, I washed my hands after every pot I won off him. Pretty much everyone thinks I have OCD now.

Rude dealers (never saw this before I started playing at Ceasar's in Atlantic City) who comment LOUDLY after pushing a pot to someone, "Don't forget your dealer." Or who then start loudly talking to another player about the player who failed to tip them saying "Guess I got stiffed again!" I watched this happen repeatedly at a table by the same dealer and this one poor woman eventually asked another dealer later on if didn't the dealers pool their tips? She was obviously a newcomer to the games and the way she was embarrassed by the dealer was, in my opinion, very out of line. I have since seen this happen in the same casino so apparently it is a standard practice for these employees.
