Re: Interesting article on Black Swans/Nassim Taleb
This was a good read. Do you, or does anybody, have a follow-up to this story since this article is 5 years old? How is Empirica doing?

According to this 2005 article in Business Week...
[ QUOTE ] Taleb's long-term investment returns aren't public, but he says trades placed during the market crash of 1987 and the Nasdaq dive of 2000 were profitable enough to keep his strategy in the black for several decades. [/ QUOTE ] His latest book was recently released as well... The Black Swan: The Impact of the Highly Improbable MrNow have you read it yet? |

[/ QUOTE ] His fund basically went out of business since he wrote Fooled by Randomness. [He likely still manage family and friend money there] Everyone said 'He's right, start buying vol' and his alpha opportunities went to zero. Plus it's an easy strategy to replicate. Same mistake Doyle made with SS1. |
