Default (razz) how bad is calling 5th here?

I thought long and hard about calling 5th, since I did not currently have a hand and would definitely face a bet on every street. I soon realized that I would only have to face a bet on 6th, though, because he'd only have 18 chips left after that. Obviously I might be drawing dead, but I might not. Anyway, I am getting like 9:1 here. Yet, I wanted to fold really really badly.

If I'd re-raised 4th, the decision would be super easy... should I have raised 4th again?

OK mental slip I guess. I felt like a donkey for calling for some reason.

Given action and dead cards IMO its far mor likely that he paired his 3 than not.

He had not paired. He had, as I recall, 86 in the hole. To me this makes his 4th street kind of bad, but understandable. It gave me pause on 5th.

3rd re-raise is good since seat 4 is running low and may not want to gamble but the downside is your investing a good chunk of your stack and your going to probably be pot committed later on in the hand. In a cash game I play the same all day long, in a tourny with your chip stack and BB size I wonder if calling the raise is better - it might be a good decision to weigh in for chip preservation, I'm not positive, Id like opinions from others.

Similar situation on 4th. We know the villain is likely is going all in on the hand, do we want to wait a street before committing more chips from the hero's stack since its now heads up? I'm not so sure this is a good spot to push small edges in a tourny.

I don't usually like to push the action against a player that I think wants to get all in, unless I can put him all in with one raise on 3rd (i.e. he's reaaaally short stacked). I far prefer the player to make desperation raises to try to push me out.

However, as good as my hand is on 4th, I think I should be happy to get it all in there, especially because I have seen so many frustration raises from players in a spot like this... it almost never happens in a cash game (unless villain has decided if he loses what's in front of him he's giving up for the night) but in tournaments many players with a 3 card 6 or better are getting all in before 5th as long as they can hit runner-runner, ESPECIALLY if their board looks good.
