Quick File Attachment Question

All--

I'm trying to open a file (e-mail attachment) that my computer claims is a "multipart/appledouble." Some Googling and dicking around with various stuff has left me still unable to read it. I'm using Windows something-or-other (XP, I think).

I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me out here. I won't need to read many (any?) more files like this; this is just something I need to check out for a job I'm doing.

Okay, what is the extension (part after the dot)? What application created the file? If you don't know the answer to the second question, ask the person who sent you the attachment. If it's a proprietary file format, you will need an application capable of reading the file. You may need to download or buy and install it.

I did a little googling, and as far as I can tell, all the multipar/appledouble means is that the file was created by on a Mac, so you still need to know what application created it, so you know what you need to read it.

Thanks very much for getting back to me, and for the Googling etc.

I asked the person who sent me the file; he promptly just sent back a .pdf of the same thing the appledouble was. (I'm probably abusing all sorts of computer-specific language here. Sorry.)
