Absolute Poker called me
I got a call on Friday (Nov. 15) from my "Absolute Poker VIP Manager," who wanted to offer me a new bonus to get me to redeposit. (I withdrew all my money when the scandal broke: to Absolute's credit I did get a quick check in the mail. Interestingly, it contained the instruction that if my bank asked about the source of the funds, I was to identify it only as a refund from an online merchant.)
I told the caller that I not received my last promised bonus for making a deposit; and (when he asked me why I had not followed up on that with customer support) that I had lost interest in their site following the revelation of the cheating that had gone on. He said (approximately), "Oh, yes. There was a single incident in one tournament. But that's all. And it's been taken care of." I told him I thought he should inform himself further and ended the call. |
