last night I was playing 400NL 6max with a huge fish to my right with effective stacks of $1k. folded to him in the SB and he raises more than the pot. I call with 77 in the BB

flop comes 55K, he bets I call
turn is a 7, bet, raise, etc we get it all in
river is like a 9 or something
he flip 57s SHIP IT

and then I woke up
does dreaming about poker make me a huge degen?

Not necessarily, but dreaming about playing a hand like a huge fish is not a good sign.

So I'm nearing the end of my first month with Poker Tracker. It has also been my worst month in a while. It's definitely my worst month this year so far (first losing one as well I think, although January was close for sure.) They might be related, but I suspect not. I ran like this last fall as well and ended up taking December off. I'm not tilting at all recently actually, but I'm not sure if that's a good thing. This month has also been my most tilt free month ever. I've always played an emotional game and I've always won. Now I am basically numb during a session. Sure, I laugh when people make obviously clueless plays and sometimes come on here to make fun of them, but during the game it really has no affect on me. I wonder if constant losing sessions have anything to do with this. "I'm going to lose anyway so there's no reason to get upset." Funny, there's an inherent emotional undertone in that reasoning though. It's not like I'm sitting at the table saying "well, I might as well call and accept my losses" though. I'm thinking ranges and trying to make the best play. When I watch videos of respected players, I call out their plays before they make it and then agree with their reasoning. Oh well, it's only about 20K hands or so, so I guess I just push onward.

One thing I have noticed about Poker Tracker stats is that they are often meaningless. I regularly see:

25/10/2 nits raising things like small pp and weaker Axs hands from early position. Looking at their stats and holding something like 99 in the SB, I'm tempted to just throw it away. Then I see the showdown and realize that I was way ahead.

45/5/0.5 players bluffing paired boards on the turn or being induced when I check. Looking at those stats I would think I can fold to any aggressive move from these guys, but that turns out not be the case a lot of the time. It seems like anybody can be induced to be aggressive these days.

28/19/3 guys playing like I would expect the 45/5/0.5 guy would post flop. They will donk bet top pair into multiple players for example. Or, they will donk bet a small pair on a paired board.
