settling an argument about loose oop call NLCASH
I had an argument with one of my buddies, who's a solid player but doesn't play HU much, the other day after the following hand:
(approximately what happened) him:~25bb me:less than 15bb(12ish I think) I get dealt A8s, I raise to 2.5bb, he calls flop: K68 no fd he raises(does this a fair amount,so this doesn't scream K to me), I push,he flips over 68. Now, my feeling is that it -EV for him to call oop with 68 in this situation with my stack size. He argued that it was worth it in order to win the match right there and argued further that his stack size permitted it. Now I know that it's the size of the shorter stack that matters in this situation, however is there any way his pf call could be profitable? |

Re: settling an argument about loose oop call
It's a bad call .
If he's smart , he would either raise you preflop (as a bluff) or fold . If I do make the call , it would have nothing to do with my hole cards . It would be a bluff call and I would try to take the pot away from him on a later street . |
