I think a blocking bet is in place here. About $60?
There aren't really hands for him to have the flush exept AK of clubs. |

Block? What hands do you think he has that he'll call with?
After the flop call/turn check I'm thinking he was calling the flop with a pair 99-QQ to see how you act on the turn. And when the turn hit A he wants to see a free showdown. The only Ace I see him calling the flop with is Ax of clubs. He's either got that, or a mid-high pair. I check and depending on reads or the size of his bet I might call. |

yeah not a good flop to bet when the villan has called ur 3 bet preflop. check flop, bet turn.
As played, there really is no point in betting the river. A check and call if he bets (he likely won't) might induce a bluff and loses the least if he had a flush draw/somehow slowplayed a set. |

huh? [/ QUOTE ] Sorry, what I meant was: Why do you check the flop? What % of the time do you think he checks behind here? If you check the flop. What's your plan on an A turn? What's your plan on a brick turn? What do you put him on that calls you when you value bet this river? All-in-all, your post that says "check flop, value bet river" is less than worthless. You are better of not posting anything at all and letting people think for themselves about how and why a hand should be played a certain way. Even if "check flop, value bet river" is correct, if someone reads it and doesn't know why, they can easily mis-apply that line because they don't recognize the situation that it was correct in. |

If I'm betting AA on this flop, I'm betting AQ. Remember, villain is unknown.
