Re: Are Elephants really afraid of Mice?
[ QUOTE ]
The lack of a control really hurts the experiment in my opinion. If a giant piece of crap started moving on its own as I walked towards it, I would also be scared. [/ QUOTE ] This was an edited version. In the actual show, Adam and Jamie were very surprised by the initial result and theorized that it was more likely the elephant reacted in such a way from moving dung than from the mouse. They then tested the elephants with moving dung an no mice. The elephants had no reaction what so ever. It seems that an elephant is not comfortable around white mice when the mouse "appears" out of nowhere. Really not that surprising to me. I would certainly react noticeably if a small creature suddenly appears in front of my path. Even more so if I had no knowledge of what this creature was. |

Re: Are Elephants really afraid of Mice?
My friend tried to explain it to me by saying that elephants can't comprehend something that small. To which I replied by pointing how the elephant seems to move toward AnJ after seeing the mouse, so it can't just be smaller things that frighten them. I mean, they're elephants, EVERYthing is smaller than them. (Airplanes excluded)
