NL200: Monster flop deep against a good regular
Villain is Big_Rob_48, who seems to be a good regular.
Poker Stars, $1/$2 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players LegoPoker Hand History Converter MP: $492.30 CO: $459.70 BTN: $297 Hero (SB): $356.50 BB: $101.55 UTG: $164.15 Pre-Flop: K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (SB) UTG folds, MP raises to $8, 2 folds, Hero raises to $26, BB folds, MP calls $18 Flop: ($54) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero bets $32, MP raises to $100, Hero ?? We have 175BB effective stacks so it is a $230 raise. He's obviously repping a set, but I can't get really get away from a hand this strong. I don't see this being a bluff ever, but I can't seem to figure out the best line? shove? call/shove? call/check/shove over raise or on river? I guess I'm worried about facing a shove on a blank turn, so my instinct is to get it in when I know I have good equity and just shove the flop. Thoughts? |

Re: NL200: Monster flop deep against a good regular
I jam it here on the flop.
I think your initial flop bet is too small this deep. Get some more value there with a $41 bet or so... |

The problem is I reraised against a good regular and the flop came up ace high. It is really hard for me to get any value out of this flop at all. I was hoping a weak bet might be interpreted as KK QQ and i could possibly squeeze another bet out of AQ or induce a bluff. Does AQ ever call two strong bets here? |

Re: NL200: Monster flop deep against a good regular
Well, you do get at least one bet out of AQ. So, make that initial bet a bit bigger to squeeze out a few extra bb's on the flop. I don't think his plan is going to change very much if you bet $32 or $41.

Re: NL200: Monster flop deep against a good regular
i have him at 24 20 5. I know he 3bets a lot, but I don't really have an idea on his 3-bet calling range or how bluffy he is in 3-bet pots. He probably has me around 18 14 2 and is should be giving me credit for a hand here.
Only recent history: I lost a stack to him earlier 3-handed when he was 3-betting way too much. I called his 3-bet pre and shoved over c-bet with an oesd and an ace, he snap called with KK and held up. |

Re: NL200: Monster flop deep against a good regular
Regarding the flop bet, if you bet this size to induce a raise, then good hand. I think your flop bet certainly entices AQ to raise here. Will a good reg call a hand with reverse implied odds in position?
