Default Potentially the End of the NBA (really)

This might be all she wrote, if substantiated:

End of the NBA? Doubtful.
End of the NBA as we currently know it? Possible.

This really is the beginning of something bigger, and I wonder if it will spill over to other leagues. The NBA has taken far to cavalier a stance on its own players gambling in casino's.

Well yeah I agree that the NBA will still go on and be a viable product, but all of this will certainly have a significant impact. Donaghy alone-not that big a deal. But if 20 other refs are involved...that just forever changes the sport IMO.

[/ QUOTE ] Agreed completely. I mentioned in another thread, even the slightest hint of the integrity being compromised is a big deal. Donaghy [censored] this league for a while.

So Donaghy saying that other refs went into casinos and gambled is a huge news story? Don't most of us do that? Should I be worried if Bennett Salvatore was spotted at a $5 craps table?

I love how in the article the refs are not allowed to gamble except on horses in the offseason.
