Wow I've never read this forum before, but this thread rules. I think Kostnice ossuary (kutna hora) in Prague is pretty high on my list... it sounds a bit creepy but I'm sure it's majestic in some ways as well.

Any places to see before you die in:

Berlin
Vienna
Milan
Marseille
Barcelona
Paris

Please let me know, I am in the process of booking hotels/flights for a Feb 08 2-week trip through these places...

Stonehenge, England:

A place shrouded in mystery, even today we still do not know definitively why this structure was constructed.

If you ever go, make sure you see the surrounding area and find out about the relevance of Stonehenge wrt to its landscape. You can walk around most of the fields and, if you look closely, can follow the avenues. Also, access is restricted most times of the day, see if you can get on an early (7-8am) tour to actually get in the middle.

Tibet's really high on my list. I also have to go to Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, and pretty much everywhere in that part of the world.

I've also be been dreaming the last couple of years about going horseback riding through the mountains of Kyrgyzstan.

It looks like I'll be able to achieve one of my travel goals in August. I'm setting up a one week bike trip down the west coast of Ireland.

The most amazing place I've ever been is the fjords in northern Norway during midsummer a couple years ago. I'd love to go back there next year. 24 hour sunlight! I'd really consider the fjords to be a "must see before death" attraction.

kimchi (lol, i like your name!),

have you actually been to the Galapagos?! Did you love it? Was it just like the pictures and is it overrun with tourists?

[ QUOTE ]

I've been to The US (NYC) once for a few days, but I'd really like to take a road trip across USA in a camper van and stay in some seedy motels and the like. I'd like to see (and chat to) some of those really small town folk to see if everything on the TV really is true.

[/ QUOTE ]

Please tell me you're not serious. I've done this before and it is not much fun.

I've driven cross country. It what you make it. If you stop and smell the roses, you'll enjoy.
