It's pretty simple.

-SEC's bad teams are usually better than other conferences bad teams.

-SEC's good teams are on par with other conferences good teams

-SEC's best teams are slightly worse than the other great teams in the country.

[/ QUOTE ]

this is very true
it's typically true of the Big10 as well.

to the previous poster, I am by no means a SEC homer. I railed on SEC fanboys earlier this year.
Year-in and year-out, I do think the SEC is the best conference. However, the conference rankings vary greatly year to year.

"JaMarcus Russell showed something with that drive verse Tennessee. "

This is the sort of psychological gobbletygook that makes sports betting profitable. Troy Smith wouldn't have needed to show anything to win vs. UT.

Did they really paint their side of the field blue? Maybe Rutgers should go all Scarlet on their field.

Bowl Records as follow(per conference)through 1/1(OUvsBSU):

Big East - 3-0
Pac-10 - 3-2
Big 12 - 3-5
SEC - 4-3
ACC - 2-3
Big 10 - 2-3
Mountain West- 3-1
Sun Belt - 1-1
WAC - 2-0
Mid-American - 1-1
C-USA - 0-4
Independent - 0-1

Only reason I am bumping this prior to the BSU, Oklahoma game is that if Boise State wins it will make the WAC a 3-0 conference in the bowl season. Other way around, an OU win would push the big 12 to 4-5, a mediocre season compared to bad.

If the WAC does go 3-0 does that mean that we should be expecting more non-bcs conference teams to jump into the BCS in the upcoming seasons? From what I've seen this bowl season a team like Rice could be a team in there or TCU. Anyone have opinions on this?

I think the move to 10 squads qualifying opens the door for mid-majors. If Boise St wins, it will go a long way. Even the Utah victory a few years ago was against a mediocre Pitt team. A win over a good Oklahoma team would say alot.

What's your prediction? I'm hoping Boise keeps it within 10 and put up a good fight. I don't want to see them get crippled
