I read somewhere OXM gave Halo 3 a 9.0 which is alot worse then Halo 2. I also read Halo 3 Campaign mode can be as short as 6 hours.

How long did it take to beat the first 2 on easy while just plowing through at full speed? Not much longer I wouldn't think. I'm not expecting a campaign mode of more than 10-12 hours on a moderate difficulty. As long as it looks [censored] awesome and plays great it will be fine, especially with the 4 player online co-op and whatnot, should be a good deal of replay value there, and well, lets face it, multiplayer is where its at anyways.

i'm a little worried. i did not pre-order Halo 3. i've been out of console gaming for a few years, has any game ever sold out?

they can be hard to find on the first day at standard stores, but you'll never have to wait for more than a week.

meh, you might be able to go in and get a preorder somewhere still. I went like 2 days ago and its guaranteed to be there at midnight.

My class ends at about 10est monday night. I'll probably just take the 20 minute drive to my local electronics giant chain from there. I don't really like feel being at the back of the line only to have the stock sold out when I finally get to the front.

Yeah, I won't be there until a little later, closer to midnight. I called them tonight and they guarantee it to be there no matter what time I get there and if I don't make it then they said I have a 48 hour window where they hold it for sure for me.

Well it turns out most chains will be overstocked anyways. Good to know.

I'll probably do the same thing I did with Halo 2. Go through the campaign on Normal just to get it over with and see the ending (hopefully it's a little better than H2's, which left something to be desired). I know that once I start matchmaking it's going to be hard to go back to the campaign.

Yeah, I've never played the halo 2 campaign. . . And I have logged 400 or so hours on live. lol.
