bb squeezes a lot. this guy is a semi-reg (metagame/balancing.) so it cant be that bad, can it?

reverse implied odds still applies, bb isn't squeezing more than 20% of the time unless he's a maniac (and are you shoving there? but thats a second question).

Basically, you are going to get into a lot of situations postflop where you are going to pay off a better hand while the villain is going to be able to get away from hands that could pay you a lot easier than you getting away from tptk... (ugh i know i'm not explaining it very well, its late)

3betting pre takes advantage of your preflop equity and cuts down on your reverse implied odds (like him flopping a set of sevens), so its a pretty much a must do.

usually i 3bet, but often enough just call in this spot. though i still think it's fine to do very occasionally, your post explained why it should be very rare. thanks ike.

thanks ike,

this is a really, really interesting concept that i haven't been applying. i have to think about this for a couple days though before i can start working it in.

do you have any more of these ideas that might seem common that you want to share?

is villain competent? because if so he knows you cbet this flop with a 5 or any other hand really...
