Why you why now why here? I haven't seen a reasonable explanation of that. Unfortunately, I've seen an explanation in ATF that doesn't sit too well with me and probably wouldn't with most other loungers.

i'm all for inviting people to participate, but this feels like bribing someone to participate, which is strange and pointless and desperate and i thought we were above that

the thing is, this isn't oot or bbv or whatever. we don't tend to overreact or ignore reason

my point being, this whole thing could have been resolved after about 15 posts with a logical explaination...but it hasn't...mat has come and gone and we've gotten several reasons from several different mods, but none of them have passed even a basic litmus test of not being completely crazy.

why is that?

is it because the reason itself is stupid and pointless and poorly conceived?

is it because there's something foul at play?

it can't be that the decision makers haven't had an opportunity to explain themselves

it can't be that tuq hasn't been able to explain himself (and he's come off well in all this...even if he is kissing ass [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] )

so what is it then?

Are you guys so opposed to having more threads, more posters coming through the lounge? Wouldn't it be nice to increase traffic just a little bit?

I don't think it was ever Mat's intention to make the Lounge a dumping ground for crap threads. This is a mischaracterization. I think you've misunderstood. If that were the case, DB Wook and I would have objected.

Honestly, I'll let you vent and let Mat explain etc., but you keep posting this and it's just wrong IMO. That is, I think you keep saying that crap threads are going to be moved here as a result of that discussion. They're not.

obviously we aren't opposed to that, but when the powers at be do something that's completely out of character then can't come up with a even remotely logical reason despite numerous chances, it starts to seem like they're hiding something

or there's something lacking in their communication skills, but i know from experience that isn't the case

You're begging the question. Why on earth would having tuq as a mod do a single thing to get more posters in here? It won't. There's not even a halfway serious argument that it will. Which makes me wonder why you asked.

pryor15, I'm pretty sure tuq's modding is for meta-entertainment purposes. Mostly though, I think his mod status is meant to pull readers from a different cross-section of 2p2 -- is that idea so offensive?
