Default I love trouble. KJo in the CO.

Reads:

BB in this hand is my buddy who I came with. He is a very competant FR player, but since the game has gotten short, he has committed cardinal sins such as open limping and calling raises on his button. He still plays pretty well postflop, and knows that I know how to play short. He is aware how large my range could be preflop.

UTG: Moron. Limps in all the time. Calls me down like it's his job. Continually bad beats me on the river, but doesn't raise when he does, and despite this, I'm up 50 BB or so.

5 handed 10/20 at the Borg in the middle of the night Friday.

UTG limps, I raise, 2 folds, my buddy calls in the BB. I am mildly happy and sad at the same time.

Flop J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

My friend leads out. This could be done with the naked A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], QT, top pair or better. Maaaybe something like K9. Moron calls. I call.

Turn Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

My friend bets, idiot calls, I pop it...

Comments thus far? More to come.

Do you hold the K of diamonds?

No. With it, I probably would have raised the flop.

I don't really like waiting for the turn to raise because your hand might already be crushed or even drawing dead, and if it isn't there are a lot of bad cards that can come (like a Queen)

You also charge the idiot for drawing to who can only guess.

I think I would have raised the flop, but I think I'd just call turn/river.

I assumed the point of not raising the flop was that you will have more equity if a safe turn falls.

But that Q isn't a good card. There are quite a few hands now that bet you such as QT, T8, AQ, KQ, KT, QJ.

why is another Q a bad card? it doesnt change anything if hero is behind already.

i also assume hero is folding to a 3B. so it really makes no difference here if we call or raise, although we do lose 1 BB if we call the turn and fold the river if a diamond came.

Yes, I was folding to a 3-bet from either player.

Yeah but if he had say Kd Qx or QT etc.

Not to mention the other guy's in the hand and it's possible he was peeling with overs(an over even)
