. . .good point. Give me a break, I just took a test and pulled an allnighter. I'm slow.

Re: I can tie at best.
4-betting the turn with Kx against a decent opponent on a KKTT board is a really bad idea (it's not all that -ev so it's hardly worth discussing, but it can't possibly be +ev). OP's line is perfect.

Re: I can tie at best.
This hand was pure ownage. my loins are still aching after watching this hand.
(ps. I think you played it perfectly despite our discussion about the river afterwards.) |

Re: I can tie at best.
The way jkam is describing this hand, it sure seems like villain had TT (why else would it be loin-aching ownage?). If so, I strongly disagree with the assessment that he is a decent player. His flop play is pretty awful.

Re: I can tie at best.
Yeah, I agree. (He had quads, btw, if any of you guys haven't figured it out yet.) I said to him "I could never put you on quads when you C/R'd the flop." He said "Yeah, I know, that's why I did it."
The thing is, I only paid him off because of the K turning. He would have lost serious money if the turn and river blanked off and I didn't hit one of my two "outs." He seems to have FPS, and yeah, is probably not as good as I thought. |

Mind you maybe we're being too results oriented on the flop play. |

Re: I can tie at best.
I talked with villian after this hand. First off there were a few things that went unsaid. He's a regular 40 player and this is a time pot.
He said "I raised the flop because most opponents if they're going to call one on the flop, they're going to call two." I mentioned the only other line I could imagine which would be c/c flop donk turn. He said he thought about that but the pot was already big, and the cold callers could have a variety of AQ/QJ/J9 type hands not to mention the case king and he didn't want to check raise the turn to shut them out. I personally like the way he played the hand. He managed to disguise his monster hand as well as get max bets on every st. |

He managed to disguise his monster hand as well as get max bets on every st. [/ QUOTE ] He only got those bets because Hero was unlucky enough to hit a 2-outer on the turn to catch up to a second best hand that ostensibly counterfeitted trip Ts. If the turn isn't a K, hero only pays 1BB on both the turn and river. If villain had bet/3-bet the flop, he gets at least one more SB in (if the limpers still fold) but probably 3-4 more SBs in when they peel. This is only an 'expert' line in hindsight given the money card on the turn. Yes, I agree that if you know the K is coming on the turn, you should checkraise this flop to blow away the field. |
