LOST Season 3, Episode 12 “Par Avion”

Previously, on LOST….

1.) From within The Pearl, Locke and the others picked up a surveillance feed from another station housing a man with an eyepatch. Locke, Kate, and Sayid located the additional station, “The Flame” and the man living there. He claimed to be a survivor of the Dharma Project but was exposed as an Other. The group now plans to use him to lead them to The Others’ base on the main island, hoping to locate Jack.

2.) At The Others’ smaller island, Jack has completed the spinal surgery on Ben and is still being held captive. Due to her betrayal of Ben, Juliette has been ‘marked’ by The Others. In this community additional survivors from flight 815 as well as some of the post-crash abductees are living among them.

3.) According to Desmond, the button was in place to periodically expel electromagnetic energy that builds up in the island. He also claimed that the plane crash was the result of him not pushing the button. When Locke refused to push it Desmond was forced to go under the hatch to flip a failsafe switch that would supposedly destroy the hatch (and everyone in it) as it expelled the energy. After the hatch “imploded” Desmond awoke in his own past in the few years leading up to his crash on the island. When he tried to make decisions that would avert this, he was told that the universe is ‘self-correcting’ and that trying to avoid his fate on the island was futile. After being jolted back to the ‘current timeline’ Desmond can now see flashes of the future. As a result of this he saved Charlies’ life twice, but told him that because of the self-correcting nature of the universe that he could not save him from this fate. Desmonds ex, the daughter of Charles Windmere, has located the island via the electromagnetic pulse.

I'm SOOOO happy they talked about <font color="white">Sayid not telling Locke that there was C4 in the basement. It makes me think the writers actually think in terms of realism. </font>
