Default Cheapest way to get WoW?
My friends are getting WoW and I figure I might as well get it too. What's my best bet. I don't feel like spending 60 up front.

Can I just wait til I'm level 60 to get BC if I don't care about the missing races/professions?

And can I just dl the 10-day trial then convert to a real account for free and pay the 15/month or does it still cost 20 to get the game no matter what?

FWIW I played on my friends account like a year ago and got a lvl 50 and 40 char before I quit to play poker more.

I presume I won't have a problem playing WoW.

This is what you should do:

Play Poker
Win $100
Spend $100 on WoW, BC, and 3 months of WoW

Emerge from the shadows 3 months later...

Play poker
Win $100...

You get the idea.

If you're posting on a forum to ask how you can do better than $60 for a video game, you should stop playing poker and get a job.

I don't understand people who assume there's no gap between just playing it recreationally, and playing it to the point of addiction. The same can be said for online poker.

That being said, don't bother getting BC until you're 60, is what I understand. The area isn't useful until that point. But the way I look at it, is a short stay at a 1/2 table can earn me my years worth of prepaid cards.

dont play wow.. LOTRO is coming out soon, play that instead.. its going to be the new wow.. you can still play it free in its beta phase.. I'm a lvl 36 hunter.. fear

WoW is a black hole for time.

There is something about it that hooks you in. You feel compelled to ALWAYS do "just one more thing"

Just one more quest, just level up your profession a bit, just get a little more gold, just one more bubble till level, just one more... etc.

The game is designed to keep nudging you to keep going.

And in the grand scheme of things, the game is just ok. It's rather slow and repetitive and there are many other games worth your time more.

I'm currently playing WoW like 6+ hours every night...
