Assessing Quality of Game
Hi guys,
I've been playing seriously now for like 6 months. I learned the game ca. a year ago. I know, for a lot of you this seems like a very short time and conclusions drawn from this time may not be very meaningful. Nevertheless, I would appreciate your response very much! I can definitely see improvement in my game during the last six months. Though I still find myself chasing a flush sometimes, stupidly calling bets, making [censored] bluff attempts, or not getting maximum value off my premium hands. On the other side, there are also great laydowns, won tournaments, and so on. Pretty normal poker life, I guess. But now I am at a point where I would like to assess my game and find out if the time and money that I spent is worth it. I'm sure there is no rule or formula that you plug your numbers in and it tells you how great you are or how much you suck. But I would like to get some input from you guys to find out if it's worth continuing to play. I mean: Often when I play I feel everything I do is wrong or nothing works out. Then I try to get some insight through forums and stuff and all I read is: "Yeah, I had bad luck last month but yesterday I cashed for $6,500" and I'm just like "I never cashed for that much..." Any ideas? |
