If you squeeze make it $20 preflop imo, with marginal hands like this you make most of your money from folds. I try to CRAI on this flop and turn also if villain checks behind, and lead on the river.

But your Fold Equity remains high, and the pot is giving you great odds if they throw an extra bet out. Most villains need quite a hand to call a CRAI with, and will take stabs at the pot quite frequently with air/very little (especially a good 25/17/2 reg).

I thought about it yesterday and bet-call is definitely superior to check-raise

Do you really "squeeze" preflop and then check this flop with AA/KK? If so then a CR might be worth thinking about but I would never check this flop with a real hand.

I'd check this flop with AA or KK a ton - but 100NL monkeys don't realize that (OMG CHECKED TO ME WITH AN OVERPAIR BET BET BET ALL IN OMG)
