Default blizzard of \'77

(name the band (without cheating) and win a prize!)

live game is mostly weak/tight. villain played a hand with me earlier where i isolated his mp open-limp, lead the flop and turn, then folded when he donked a (blank) river. i haven't seen him do much.

villain open-completes his sb (he has not been chopping with his buddy, sitting on his right. he does not say anything about chopping before completing). hero RAISES with 77.

* FLOP * A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players, 4 sb)
VILLAIN DONKS, HERO RAISES, villain calls.

* TURN * A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players, 4 bb)
villain checks, HERO BETS, villain calls.

* RIVER * 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players, 6 bb)
villain checks, hero checks.

Not sure I'd raise the flop but turn c/c + river check = 5 or 3 usually so I'd bet da river.

I think I would have bet/folded the river. In a blind battle situation, villain could have paired his 5 or whatever.

The only blizzard related thing I can think of is Ozzy and Blizzard of Ozz. I guess Alzheimer's is setting in at 42.

Meh, I'm just so used to crazy shorthanded online games. I guess if you know a 3town by this guy means you're toast it's fine.

I don't get it. The 8 probably changes nothing; if you were ahead enough to bet the turn you can bet the river. If you think a check/raise can be a bluff then it's better to check behind, but given your read I don't think that's much of a concern. Or is it? What's our stakes here?

Also, I gave up on the band and cheated. I haven't heard anything from them since that one song they had that was really popular.

We beat a 5.

I'm a little worried about, say, A2 with villian's flop donk, but not that much. I probably don't raise the flop. Turn is fine (especially since he didn't 3-bet the flop.) There's probably value in a river bet.

Quite often in this situation, i bet the river, then look on in amazement as he turns over a weak Ace. So checking through the river seems ok
