(OT) Do you guys still like poker?

Or do you just play it for the money?

I personally used to like playing poker, I liked the challenge of trying to put my opponents on a hand and outplaying my opponents, etc.

Lately however, I friggin hate poker. I am beginning to find it mind-numbingly boring. Alot of this probably has to do with the fact that outside circumstances keep arising to decimate my BR and I am perpetually stuck at 200 NL, where everyone is mindless and horrible and robot poker will net you the most money, but I find myself getting frustrated easily more and more and tilting easier, leading me to lose money and play ridiculously bad.

I wish I could take a month off, but I pay for school, rent, food, fun, etc. using poker money and that just really isn't feasible.

Any tips on what you guys do to keep this game at least remotely interesting?

I just started playing again a couple weeks ago after a month+ break, so I can 12table for hours right now and not get bored.
I was getting bored of it before i took my break though, mostly because I've been stuck at 5/10 shle and 1/2 nl6 foreeeeeeeever. i've had to pay for a lot of [censored] lately like you too.

I still find it ridiculously fun. Try playing like an idiot and having people berate you, that will certainly kick up the level of fun a notch.

I still think it's kinda fun. It's just, other things are more fun, so I haven't played much the last month or so. I don't think poker is challenging either, because it's usually just about finding a fish and taking his money, and sometimes that doesn't even work, which can get very frustrating(bad beats, riggs, etc)

I think I kinda rambled and dodged the question. Yes, I still like poker. I like reading hands here and seeing everyone's logic and all that. I like reading hands etc. at the table. And it sure as hell beats some 8$/hr tutoring gig.

I started enjoying poker again when I retired from limit and started working on NL at the beginning of July. It's been fun so far, but I'm starting to play on autopilot a bit and take winning for granted [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] I have to talk myself into playing when I wake up, but if it's a yes/no question, then yes I still like poker.
