Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
UTG folds, CO calls, Button folds, SB calls, Hero raises, CO calls, SB calls.

Flop: 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (6SB, 3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, CO calls, SB calls.

Turn: 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4.5BB, 3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, CO raises, SB folds, Hero...

I think i can only beat a(semi-)bluff - but itīs more likely that an unknown plays a set or two pair like this.
I really hate these spots - i can hardly let this go.

Is this worth a calldown?

Wrong forum?

Anyway, w/o a read, you should fold this -35% of the time.

Right forum.

Your hand is pretty easy for villain to read here so he probably has you beat when he raises the turn. However, against an unkown at this limit, I calldown and make a note on the player.

Just call down. Sometimes you win, sometimes you loose, then move on.

WTF, this post makes no sense whatsoever.

OP just call down, your hand will hold up often enough.

standard calldown, he could be doing this with any ace and you'll usually have 3-9 outs if behind

Vs. unknown, standard calldown. You have to risk 2 BB to win 8.5 (= current pot + his river bet), so it's not like you have to be good a huge amount of the time to make calling down +EV.

1. If you fold AJ you are folding most of your range. You won't have a better hand than AJ in this situation often enough to prevent Villain from making excellent money by always bluffing. That makes your fold highly incorrect from a game theory perspective.

2. The positional arrangment and somewhat scary board creates a strong incentive for Villain to combine hand protection with a free showdown by raising a mediocre hand in front of the third player.

3. Villain limped in cutoff and is unlikely to have a better ace or a set. Most of the likely hands that beat you are two-pair atrocities against which you have many outs.
