I ended up going with eggshell over the semi-gloss. The semi-gloss was a little much, but I wanted something more than completely flat. I went top of the line too (~45/gal) since it wasn't much more and I only need a gallon. Got a nice Purdy brush too. I plan on having to do a few coats, so I might not get new pics until tomorrow. How long will it take me to paint ~100sf with a 4" brush?

Also I don't feel like messing with all the primer crap. Is it ok to just paint over the existing paint after cleaning the surface? Especially considering I'll be doing a few coats, I don't think it matters, could be wrong though.

You're not gonna want to paint it with just a brush, you have the brush to trim the edges of everything, and then you use a roller to fill in the middle. As for how long it will take you it's impossible to say, I know whenever I watch any of my friends paint I almost cry with how slow/bad they are at it.

It looks like your house/apartment is pretty new and clean so you'll be fine just painting without a primer. Just make sure you clean the walls first if they're dirty.

Make sure you remove all your outlet covers before you start too, I hate it when I walk in a house and there's paint on them.

I think you need a brighter shade of red.

the camera flash makes it brighter than it really is, plus the light base paint...it should darken up after another coat
