Default Is there a bird in here? CAAAAW CAAAAAW!

Hello all, I have been lurking around here for a while now...decided I should probably start posting more. Here is the first hand I'd like some feedback on.

Cryptologic 0.15/0.25 Hold'em (10 handed) link

BB ($23.10)
UTG ($16.50)
UTG+1 ($35.25)
UTG+2 ($26.55)
MP1 ($36.77)
Hero ($63.75)
MP3 ($24.60)
CO ($16.45)
Button ($17.00)
SB ($55.80)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
1 folds, UTG+1 raises to $0.50, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, Hero calls, MP3 calls, CO calls, Button raises to $1.50, 2 folds, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, 1 folds, Hero calls, MP3 calls, CO calls.

Flop: (57.67 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6 players)
UTG+1 checks, UTG+2 checks, Hero ?

Had I been CO or button, I probably would have raised this pot pf. I am looking for discussion on preflop & flop. I can't see calling the 0.50 and folding for the 1$? Nor folding to the 0.50$. So maybe preflop is ok? Perhaps raising the 0.50? But with 5 behind me?

On the flop....this is my real question. Interested to hear opinions on lines here, and the positives/negatives of them.

thanks!

I think hero makes a standard (for him) flop bet at pot sized or 2/3's or whatever. The calls pre-flop are consistent with a small pp and leading into the flop is consistent with trips played properly.

I can think of a number of exceptions to the above but they're all opponent tendency based and I don't have that info. The obvious one is the pre-flop re-raiser is yet to act and if he does have the big pair advertised (could be AK of course) then he may be resigned to losing to trips and push.

So what is your plan in the event of a poooosh (or even large raise) behind hero's flop bet? (Barring knowledge of villians)

PF is fine. I dont like a reraise of the 50c; your hand is basically worthless at this point, and your position doesn't warrant a raise either. You can raise this hand for deception value, but reraising for deception value is kinda silly because...welll just think about how it will narrow opponents' ranges and what that will be like to play out on later streets. Just limp in and play for implied odds.

btw- in most online games you can fold this PF to the $1 raise as well. I know that sounds crazy- but these hands actually have much less value in these situations than people realize. If SB and MP1 were in the hand as well, I think it is more worthwhile to play.

fold flop- that's my only line here.

Umm. I made sure I was reading the suits right, and it appears you have bottom pair, no draw, and a ton of players left to act. Check-fold the flop or am I missing something?

Preflop is ok, I probably call the $1 also.

Easy check on flop - bottom pair, weak kicker, plus there's a flush draw on the board so you might get some chasers.

Often, if i'm UTG+2 on these raggy boards and see someone likely positiong betting to take down the pot I'll float when UTG folds.

This seems to work a large percentage of the time, but I can't back it up with numbers.

Just check the flop and hope to hit 2-pair/trips and be sneaky-sneaky.

Without much of a read I would C/F to a reasonable sized bet. You just don't have enough to work with.

It's 25NL, most opponents aren't folding J,J - A,A even if they genuinely think you have a set.

PF is fine. Check/fold the flop.

Again, you have bottom pair and no draw. If you can see a free card, do it.

If you're really feeling liking trying to make your move here, bet pot or over bet pot. Pot must be about $5, so go $7.50, but it seems like spew to me.
