Yeah I'm not married so take this with a grain of salt.

I would try to talk to her and get down to the bottom of why she doesn't like poker. Maybe it puts you in a terrible mood for the rest of the day after a losing session, or affects you somehow.

Also does she really understand poker and variance? Have her read "The Poker Mindset" and see if that helps her understand what you have to deal with from poker. The most important thing for a poker player's spouse to be able to do is not be critical when we have losing sessions, and honestly, not be elated when we have winners.

If the issue is just that it takes up all of your free time with her then that is a good reason to limit yourself to playing when she isn't around, and keep it to a minimum when she is. But if she is getting mad at you for playing while she is away there must be some other issue she has with poker.

Honestly though, teach her to beat $3 STTs. Maybe if she is involved with this large part of your life she will be more open to poker playing whenever you want to.

I've got SF -3 and Cincy -2.5.

I feel pretty good about the SF pick. Cincy I'm not so sure about. I'm hoping they play off the emotion of the home opener and put some points on the board.

I also considered taking the over in the AZ/SF game at 45. Should be pretty high scoring.

i have baltimore at +2.5 and i see balt winning the game easy. cincy hasn't gotten much better from last yr, but the ravens are a much much stronger team.

I dunno, that Ravens defense only gets older every year.

Palmer should be even sharper now, another year removed from that terrible injury. They have one of the top few receiving corps in the league and a pretty good RB as well.

What's the over in this game?

I'm too scared money to bet on AZ SF, the over looks nice but both of these teams are probably going to be improved over last season and I'd really hate to have to pick here. Both were fairly unpredictable teams last season.

My contribution to the girl posts:

Yesterday I had my first date in ~2 and a half years. Went well, although I knew she was really into me for a while.

She says she wants to learn poker but doesn't think she'll ever be good enough to win money at it. (Also the first time she played when I was teaching her the game she folded a gutshot which hit on the turn and I've given her enough crap about it to make her think she should call down with all draws because they might hit. I'm a horrible poker coach )

God, you finally find a noob that wants to actually fold a draw and you steer them the right way...

I hope this isn't a sign of things to come in this relationship.
