Default Learning Probablity Calculation Methods

Hey everyone. I'm not sure if this belongs in the Books/Publications forum, but I'll give it a shot.

What are some books out there related to calculating probability in decks of cards, ranging from simple basic calculations to calculations of a more complex variety? I'm trying to learn the methods, and would appreciate the help. Thanks everyone, and again, sorry if this is the wrong place for this question.

Cheers!

Ace

Default Re: Learning Probablity Calculation Methods

What you need is a book on combinatorics, not probability.

The only thing you would need to know is that the probability of any event = # of ways it can happen / total # of outcomes.

Anyway, naturally things are much more complicated than this oversimplification I'm giving you.\

A First Course in Probability by Sheldon Ross is what many top universities (including mine) use in their introductory probability classes. After chapters 1,2,3 and a little ingenuity on your part, you will be able to calculate all the [censored] you want.
