First time smoking trip report; looking for advice

This weekend while moving, one of my roommates talked me into smoking some weed for the first time. They load up the one-hit, tell me what to do. I take a couple puffs, hold it for a second, exhale, cough and then puke. Anyone have any advice if I try a second?

Take it in small doses the first few times, especially if your lungs aren't used to smoking at all. Inhale a small amount, hold it in for a while, take a deep breath to send it home, and exhale. Most people don't get high the first few times (I know I didn't until like the 5th time) and if your lungs aren't used to smoking (like mine weren't), it's not going to be a pleasant few times.

BTW, there's nothing wrong with just not smoking it at all. Just because your friends are egging you on doesn't mean you need to do it. If I had the knowledge and experiences I do now, I would have quit long ago. I only quit a few months ago.

Start with smaller inhales, and exhale sooner. You can't just take a massive hit and hold it in forever your first time.
