Re: How much is a \"free\" flight worth to you?
Good luck trying to actually use that free flight. They're tougher than advertised to actually cash in and use on anything at all.

[/ QUOTE ] My wife has had much better luck with Southwest than with USAir. With USAir, there were so many restrictions on a free flight, we still have a bunch of miles with them that we haven't been able to use. OTOH, my wife has used Southwest free flights twice. The first time, there were no restrictions. The second time, she had to stay an extra day in order to find a flight that wasn't blacked out. |

Re: How much is a \"free\" flight worth to you?
why would you bring any bags? I booked a 2 leg flight to miami via atlanta, I didnt use the 2nd leg, nothing happened. Im sure you can just scan walk up, have them scan you in, than tell them you need to make a quick payphone call before getting on.

Re: How much is a \"free\" flight worth to you?
@southwest flights
They have changed it a lot in the last several months, and it's ben next to impossible for a buddy of mine to use his on any flights at all. He tried to book some $100 - $150 flights a month ahead of time and they said he couldn't use it for that. Each time he tried. It used to be any flight, and was easy to use even a week or two prior. |

Especially since SW doesn't have assigned seats and it would be a huge pain to figure out who isn't on the plane. |

[/ QUOTE ] The funny thing is, the whole myth about checking bags then not getting on the plane doesn't work very well. My sister was sick and flying, and when she was waiting in the security lines she passed out (after she checked her bags). They took her to the hospital, and her bags ended up on her destination. |

There are other ways to get SW credits. I think you get 4 for getting their credit card. There's an annual fee, but you can just cancel it after a few months and you'll get your 4 credits for like 40 bucks or something.
