Default scare card for me or him?

late night borg 40...

i've only been at the table for a few orbits... villian has been playing pretty loose but he plays well in general, can fold in some obvious spots and doesn't miss value all too much...

villian raises utg, 4th time in the orbit he's opened... i 3bet in co with red QQ... everyone else folds, he calls...

flop for 3.75bbs..

A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

ch, bet, call

turn: 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

ch, bet, call

river: T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

he bets... i raise?

Why raise?

Edit: NM, I see your "can fold in obvious spots" comment.

if you raise i think its nothing but a pure bluff. villain could easily have J 10 here or A 10. this is an utg raise too.
What are you trying to represent here, KhQh???

Do you think he ever folds a flush or two pair here?

I think simply, but, it seems like a call, and maybe a fold if anything other than a call. His hand looks most like TT, or AT, or A9s, A8s to me. Is he able to fold A9s/A8s to a raise here? That's the only good thing a raise would do for you. I guess you could do it if you had a good meta-game feel at that moment that it could work, but i dunno, i think its a once a session, if that, kind of thing...

I don't think he's going to put you on a flush here, because there is only one (KQ) to put you on.

I don't like this spot, I think if the flush hadn't come in and he bets into you it's obvious he's taking a WA/WB line and if he's likely to fold his weak ace that's a huge victory for you. Here there's a much better chance he's calling since a lot of draws have now come in.

It is a scare card for you for the JJ that now passed you, and the two pair value bet he is making. If there is enough of a chance (about 8:1) that he is on a pure bluff, then call, but there isn't much he can have that would call the turn, hoping to donk-bluff the river...but he could just be floating for this reason.

i actually think he's b/f'ing a lot of hands in his range that he plays like this.. think about it.. what hands are you b/c'ing here with? i think a flush draw or monster shows up way before hand with some aggression...

so i put him on a monster some fraction of the time say 25%... and AT, JT and one pair aces make up the rest of his range and i thought he would fold this range roughly half the time to that river card thinking he's somewhat protected from a bluff raise...

so yeah.. i certainly wasn't calling cause he probably bluffs this < 10% of the time... against others i would fold but it looked like a good opportunity to raise...

Why raise? If he is bluffing he is not going to call your raise. If he's not bluffing you lose an extra bet. So the raise either loses a bet or makes nothing.
