that looks like Essien with Malouda.

[/ QUOTE ]

Now I wish I had a longer lens (and a camera that focused better).

Looking at other pictures, I don't think so. Essien is wearing a bandage on his left elbow:

You can see him out of the penalty area during the free kick:

The guy next to Malouda had a bandage on his right wrist:

Here's SWP in an earlier shot:

Here's Cudicini warming up for the second half (A trainer was kicking balls at him and he was diving for them. I don't know if he had to make any saves at all until the last 5 minutes of the game, when Chelsea brought all it's men back):

Also, according to the news reports, America's goal was deflected off of Terry, which is why Cech didn't save it. I had thought it was odd that Cech couldn't save a shot taken from outside the penalty area, so I guess that explains it.

also, how is glen johnson still at chelsea?

[/ QUOTE ]

That surprised me as well. He's like the 3rd option at left-back for Chelsea.

[/ QUOTE ]

Johnson actually played RB during the game.

But http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/st...07&cc=5901 explains why Chelsea needs some help: both Wayne Bridge and Ashley Cole are still injured. Also explains why a 18 year old reserve teamer was playing LB in the first half.
