Fair enough, when I think of eccentric professors I see an engineering professor who carries a stopwatch around with him at all times to time how long he walks each day so he can calculate the total mount of exercise he does (yes, I do actually know one who does this).

Either way, perhaps pie instead? Water balloons to the face can sting a bit.
