Michael Jordan uses Ping irons?

I've known people that were 2-3 handicaps that played ping irons. They're not going on tour any time soon, but they're damn good players. I don't know what sort of player Jordan is, but I can't really see being shocked that he has ping irons. I think in general people make too big of a deal out of the equipment people play and how it relates to their skill level. I've known very good players that had Callaway irons too. I don't understand what the surprise is there.

its not the irons, its the player...I play with crappy Ram irons b/c I have not gotten around to buying real brand Irons and my friend plays with Callaway irons that his dad gets new, uses for like 9 months then gives them to him...and I still beat him easily every time...so again...its not the irons its the player

Oh, well it's not really uncommon for people to think along the lines of "irons designed to be easier to hit mean the player using them sucks".

What's wrong with Ping Irons? I have a set of Eye 2s that I have played with for 15 yrs. My shots still go just as deep in the woods as they did when I bought them.
