Default Poker.com : Took winnings away from player\'s accounts.

Hey all, should poker.com be liable for their mistake here?

Basically they ran an aussie millions satelite, where they screwed up the payout, by making it a cash payout. Support confirmed it was a cash payout, and the top 20 were awarded money. A day later 2nd to 20th had their money taken away and 1st was given the aussie millions package. So basically 2nd place had nearly 6000$ stripped from their account.

edit: my bad, thought anyone could view the thread.

Here's the chat with support while the tournament was running:

Please wait for a site operator to respond.
You are now chatting with 'CS XXX'
Your Issue ID for this chat is LTK11602432948X
CS XXX: Hello. How may I assist you?
EgonOlsen: hi, I think you made a mistake in the Grand Final payouts
EgonOlsen: its all kmoney, no tickets
CS XXX: please hold on for a moment
CS XXX: after the player have won the grand final tournament
EgonOlsen: ?
CS XXX: the arrangements to send you to the aussie millions grand final events will be made by a members of our management
EgonOlsen: lol look at the tournament, its all cash prizes
EgonOlsen: you made the tour wrong, no ticket for Aussie there
CS XXX: after you have won the tournament
CS XXX: the arrangement will be made
CS XXX: as mentioned
EgonOlsen: and what does second get?
EgonOlsen: according to the tour that is running now he gets 5000$, thats not normal for a grand final
CS XXX: to see the payout of the mentioned tournament
EgonOlsen: ohh man
CS XXX: yes the payout is according to that
CS XXX: position listing
EgonOlsen: just look at it, its all blotched up
CS XXX: the pay out will be paid according to the table as shown
CS XXX: thank you for your understanding
EgonOlsen: so number 1 get 8000$ AND a trip to aussie?
CS XXX: it is a cash of $8000 and a trip to the aussie millions grand events
EgonOlsen: roger I will hold you to that
CS XXX: are you still there?
EgonOlsen: yup
CS XXX: the $8000 for the 1st prize is actually the travel fees for trip to the aussie million event
EgonOlsen: ok, just so you know, thats not what the tour say at the moment
EgonOlsen: and normally the rest of the places dont pay money, but a new grand final ticket
EgonOlsen: but if its a new structure on the grand finals I understand.
EgonOlsen: but I have played them all and its very different from normal
CS XXX: it could be a new structure being set up by our marketing team but there is not much information available to us at the moment
EgonOlsen: ok but if its a mistake, the longer tour runs the worse the problems get. Wont say I told you so, but I did
CS XXX: if you have any concern about this tournament, please write us an email
EgonOlsen: Ill ask Liam instead. have a good day

And supports response to the thread:

"Support did get the SOS to me Egon

That was clearly not the way the tournament was meant to pay out. The money will be deducted from accounts and the replacement GrandFinal entry coupons issued."

I will also add a big congratulations to the winner, BartyUK. The Aussie Millions is sure to be the trip of a lifetime!"

you might want to cut and paste the forum thread you're talking about since the link you provide requires people to be a member of that forum
